Senator-it is good to see this site up and running. Here is hoping that this site will become an intelligent forum for discussion of many of the key issues facing America today, something sorely needed.

Gary – Glad you’ve found a new medium to contribute your insights – especially pleased with the emphasis on civil discourse – will look forward to your posts.

I’ve decided to dip my toe into the blog world — this being my first blog to participate in. I’m glad you are trying this out. I guess it’s like the digital “Center for a New Democracy!”

“There are two ideas of government. There are those who believe that if you just legislate to make the well-to-do prosperous, that their prosperity will leak through on those below.”
This is from William Jennings Bryan 1896 “Cross of Gold” speech, see http://historymatters.gmu.edu/d/5354/. In light of which, and also http://www.huffingtonpost.com/les-leopold/the-forbes-400-shows-why_b_306228.html
I would be very interested to know what Senator Hart might propose to reverse this failed policy. And why can’t/won’t Democrats/Progressives repudiate this policy simply by articulating that “trickle down” is fundamentally flawed for the same reason as Socialism: people are inherently greedy.
